make's our Top 5!Nou Camp Stadium - The Nou Camp is quite simply a fortress. Barcelona Football Club are arguably the best club in the world and have been at that level for a large number of years. The club attracts the finest players on the planet who enjoy playing at the enormous Nou Camp, which holds almost 100,000 people and is full for the vast majority of games. The fans produce an electrifying atmosphere and the views from the stand are magnificent. A trip to Nou Camp alone is justification to visit the city of Barcelona.
Maracana - Sometimes the quality of a stadium’s upkeep can be overlooked due to the unquestionable quality of the football which is played there. The Maracana, whilst huge, is not in the best condition, but you will not care for a second. Brazil is one of the best and most successful footballing nations in the world, and has been for decades. The support which the nations provide can also be considered amongst the best in the world, which ensures that any game which takes place here is like a carnival.
Amsterdam Arena - This stadium in the capital of Holland was groundbreaking on a number of levels and it still maintains its status as one of the most modern and magnificent stadiums on the world. The Amsterdam Arena was the first stadium in Europe to have a sliding roof, meaning that games can be played in all conditions. The tunnel which runs under the stadium also provides a fantastic view for passing motorists. The atmosphere which is created in the stadium is typical of the Dutch people’s passion for sport. The stadium is home to Ajax Football Club and also hosts the national sides home games, which are always top class affairs.
San Siro - Italy is hugely passionate about football and it boasts a whole range of fantastic stadiums. In my opinion the best of them all is the San Siro, which is home to AC Milan and Internazionale, the two best clubs in Italy and amongst the best in the world. The San Siro is unique in its appearance and quite outstanding as an arena for top class football. With 85,000 fans letting off fireworks and singing vivaciously throughout games, this is an experience which is a must for any football fan.
Wembley Stadium - The home of football. This is the national stadium in the country where football was born, and the new structure stands on the spot of its historic predecessor. Holding 90,000 fans with a giant arch leaning over it, many would argue that the Wembley experience simply cannot be matched.
